CEO Insights: Solving Healthcare’s Provider Data Challenge Through H1’s Acquisition of Veda

Today, I’m proud to announce that H1 is acquiring Veda. This follows our acquisition of Ribbon Health in December 2024. By bringing in Veda’s suite of products, data, team, and technology, we are furthering H1’s mission of connecting the world to the right doctor—this time by deepening our partnerships with enterprise health plans. As of today we now power 9 of the top 10 health plans in America.
At its core, a health insurance company operates a straightforward business: identify which doctors (i.e., providers) are covered by the plan (i.e., in-network), and then offer that network to employers and individuals seeking coverage. To power this business model, health plans need the most accurate, comprehensive, insightful, and trustworthy information on providers.
There are five key areas where provider data is mission-critical for health plans:
1. Directory
Displaying up-to-date provider information to members.
2. Network Suite
Determining which providers are in the network and ensuring that network meets both member needs and regulatory requirements.
3. Rosters
Provider groups send rosters of participating providers to health plans regularly—typically monthly—to keep network records current.
4. Credentialing
Once a provider is selected for a network, the health plan must verify that the provider is properly credentialed and in good standing.
5. Provider Data Management (PDM)
Serving as the central system of record for provider data, enabling accurate data flow across all internal systems.
Before acquiring Veda, H1 already led the market in Directory and PDM. With Veda, we now bring best-in-class Roster capabilities and a rapidly growing Network Suite into our platform. That gives H1 four of the five core technologies health plans require to manage provider data.
And we’re not stopping there. Our credentialing solution is slated for launch in late 2025/early 2026. At that point, H1 will offer the market’s first and only full-suite provider data platform built specifically for health plans.
The healthcare technology landscape is littered with piecemeal solutions, forcing health plans to stitch together disparate systems and hope they talk to one another. With H1, they won’t have to. Our unified provider data suite delivers an out-of-the-box solution that’s comprehensive, scalable, and purpose-built for health plans.
