A Data-driven Approach to Improve Medical Education
In Conversation with Jennifer Wheeler
Access to comprehensive data is optimizing Medical Affairs teams’ practices. No longer are medical affairs teams focused on racking up engagements by sheer volume. Visibility into the full patient journey is strengthening medical education plans and enabling more quality interactions that create meaningful impact. And the ability to look beyond traditional KOLs enables truly innovative, out-of-the-box thinking for advisory boards.
Jennifer Wheeler, Associate Director of Analytics at Johnson & Johnson is part of the driving force behind J&J’s latest medical affairs innovations. Jennifer and her team have had success in optimizing medical education planning, expanding advisory boards beyond traditional KOLs, and advancing clinical trial diversity goals – all powered by H1’s comprehensive data insights.
In the interview, Jennifer identifies some of the ways that H1’s data has guided her ever-evolving strategy:
"We relied pretty heavily on the subjective information that our field medical teams were able to provide to us based on their territory knowledge. Now that we have more of a breadth of data where we can look at claims data and bibliometric data such as publications, claims, and trials, it’s really enabled us to uncover people that we might not have known in our territories."
The interview covers:
- How understanding the patient journey influences medical education strategy
- Expanding advisory board selection beyond traditional KOLs
- How comprehensive data powers expansion to new therapeutic areas
- Reaching diverse patient populations for better care outcomes
