Meeting Key Opinion Leaders Where They Are
In Conversation with Sheila Komara
Medical Affairs teams influence every stage of the medical product life cycle – identifying unmet healthcare needs, highlighting evidence gaps, and educating scientific and medical experts on new drugs and therapies. To better understand the priorities and challenges that MSLs face today, we spoke with Sheila Komara, Sr. Medical Science Liaison about her role at Jazz Pharmaceuticals.
While detailing some of the changes that MSLs have faced in recent years, Sheila emphasizes the importance of being able to connect with key opinion leaders (KOLs) who have a lot on their plates these days and may not always be available to meet in person. Having the knowledge about what conferences or webinars they’re attending, what they’re saying on social media, and understanding who they frequently collaborate with are all helpful ways to find access to KOLs.
In the interview, Sheila describes the value that H1 brings to her daily workflow:
The interview covers:
- Practical tips to master the shift to more virtual KOL engagements
- How technology can fill critical MSL knowledge gaps
